The Hybrid Brush category within Headhunters Creations, we present our unique brush designs for today’s modern drummer. Wire drum brushes were first invented in 1913, but after 100 years with very few changes, we have redesigned and revolutionized the concept. In our opinion, the Billy Gladstone brush was truly a ‘one of a kind’ and with our addition to its design it is a natural for the Hybrid Bursh category.
Billy Gladstone Brush:
First created in 1946 and then patented in 1949. The core idea was to offer the drummer 2 different flare sizes, one extending from either end of the tube. While this was an interesting idea, the fact is, with retractable brushes and pull rods, today's drummers have the option to size the flare with more precision than in the past. We have re-created the Billy Gladstone brush with a significant twist, by using 2 different diameter wire bundles. At one end, our lightest ‘Vintage’ 0.013 diameter, at the opposing end, our extreme heavy weight wire at 0.019. These are identified in a black end and a white end marker. A drummer can alter the sound, feel and textures by mixing and matching the brush combinations.
