The Sputniks are unlike anything else in your stick bag — part flat stick, part square rod, part bundle, and entirely their own thing. The square-shaped grip transitions to a round taper, with white HDPE slats on each face and 1/8″ black polypropylene rods at each corner. A 1/2″ nylon sleeve sits on each rod, and adjustable O-rings allow you to flare the HDPE slats or the polypropylene corner rods independently.
The real magic is in the adjustability. By sliding the O-rings along the wood core, you change the flare of the flexible HDPE slats — which directly affects the sound and bounce.
